Hand scraped hardwood floors are a popular choice in many upscale homes and commercial properties. Handscraped floors are a new trend but have historical roots.

Traditionally, floors were hand scraped on site to make the floors flat. Today, hand scraping is done to add texture and richness while making every floor truly one-of-a-kind.

Laminate looks like hardwood flooring but it's not. Laminate flooring is neither vinyl tiling nor engineered flooring. Laminate flooring is a hybrid.

Laminate flooring is a surface layer of two thin sheets of paper impregnated with melamine. The surface layer is a photograph of wood grain — not real wood — and is usually covered by a hard transparent layer which protects the flooring from dogs, chairs, high heels, and other damages. Laminate flooring is easy to clean and very durable.
